AC Shadows Unveils Unexpected Attack on Titan Crossover for Holiday Season
In a surprising collaboration that challenges traditional expectations, Ubisoft has unveiled an in-game crossover between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the acclaimed anime series Attack on Titan. The unexpected holiday event operates from November 25 through December 22, including free bonus story content for Shadows players.
Mysterious Adventure Disclosed
According to the official announcement, "A mysterious encounter draws characters Naoe and Yasuke into a new quest, where rumors of prohibited rituals and terrifying changes echo through the darkness." The plot presents a "unusually attired woman named Ada" who charges the pair with traveling into the Gemstone Grotto—a significant location from Attack on Titan—to liberate her friend from a hidden cult.
The adventure focuses on "bizarre tests and a fearsome enemy" and is open to all players who have gained access to the Yasuke character.
Familiar Places and Transformations
The teaser showcases the Hidden Temple from Attack on Titan reimagined as the Crystal Cave. This significant location was previously where the Reiss royal family handed down the Founding Titan ability through ages. The preview finishes with a striking sequence showing a character, presumably the captive, changing into a Titan that towers over Naoe and Yasuke.
Unique Items and Extra Features
Players who successfully complete the quest will obtain an special katana together with numerous objects concealed throughout the area in hidden chests. The update also contains in-store Attack on Titan item packs, featuring:
- Titan-themed attire for Yasuke
- Mikasa costume for Naoe
- Unique implements
- Survey Corps vehicle
Latest Free Story Update
This release also brings the game's third free story addition, titled "The Mystery." This humorous mission pairs Naoe and Yasuke as they exchange signature skills: Naoe debuts a performative interpretation of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke acquires non-lethal stealth takedowns. Faithful to its name, "The Mystery" also includes a original environmental puzzle that may eventually explain some unresolved questions from the main storyline.

The series formerly showcased a 2020 crossover story linking Assassin's Creed: Valhalla with Makoto Yukimura's Vinland Saga.
